Actress Katherine Heigl was spotted puffing on a stainless steel electronic cigarette while shopping with her family in the trendy Soho neighborhood of New York (Feb. 6th). Could it be the new stainless V2 Cig?
Heigl strolled along with her mom and musician husband Josh Kelley. Heigl and Kelley’s adopted 2-year-old daughter, Naleigh also joined in the outing.
Best known for playing Dr. Izzie Stevens on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, Heigl also played starring roles in the movies Knocked Up, 27 Dresses and The Ugly Truth. She is one of a slew of celebrities faithfully using electronic cigarettes in place of the real thing.
Heigl now 31, began using electronic cigarettes in 2010 to help her kick her habit and set a good example for her young daughter. She was excited to find electronic cigarettes satisfy her cravings for the real deal after failing with nicotine gum, nicotine patches and prescription drug, Chantix . During an appearance on, “Late Show with David Letterman”, the actress happily demonstrated her e-cig.
“You blow out water vapor so you’re not harming anyone around you and you’re not harming yourself,” she said. “I’m essentially humidifying the space.”
When Letterman asked what advice she would give to her daughter about smoking, she replied:
“The one thing I would say to my kid is, ‘It’s not just that it’s bad for you. Do you want to spend the rest of your life fighting a stupid addiction to a stupid thing that doesn’t even really give you a good buzz?’”
