V2 (http://www.v2.com) Sets World Record for Most Electronic Cigarettes Smoked in One Place in Venice Beach, California
Venice Beach, CA (PRWEB) June 09, 2012
500 people gathered to light up V2 Electronic Cigarettes at Windward Plaza in Venice Beach, California on June 8, 2012 at 4 p.m. The world record was successfully set for the most electronic cigarettes smoked in one place. The 518 participants hoped to raise awareness about this new smoke-free and tobacco-free cigarette alternative.
Although Proposition 29 to tax cigarettes recently failed by a narrow margin, V2, who stood in support of Prop 29 to tax cigarettes, wanted to show continued support for the issue.
“It was exciting to spread the word about electronic cigarettes by engaging consumers in a fun and motivating way,” said Dan Recio, COO of V2. “Our hope is that individuals will find smoking V2 to be a similar experience to smoking real cigarettes, but without many of the dangerous chemicals found in traditional cigarettes.”
According to the Center for Disease Control, over 45 million people smoke cigarettes in the United States. Switching from traditional cigarettes to nicotine or non-nicotine V2 e-cigs may result in a positive lifestyle change for many.
Ironically, Guinness World Records refused to acknowledge this record saying, “Though we understand that electronic cigarettes contain fewer harmful ingredients than traditional cigarettes, we are not able to sanction records that encourage participants smoking in any way.”
V2 are a new alternative to cigarettes that provides an authentic smoking experience without the harmful smoke, tar, carbon monoxide, or foul odors of traditional cigarettes. V2 is committed to educating the world on the benefits of their electronic cigarettes over traditional tobacco cigarettes.
This trend-setting and record-breaking stunt was the first of its kind in Venice Beach, California.
