What’s in Your E-Liquid?

shutterstock_41893813Have you ever wondered just what is in that tasty e-liquid you’re vaporizing? Here at V2 Cigs, we take pride in offering some of the highest-quality e-liquids available. You can even download a list of the ingredients in your specific batch of liquid! Electric cigarettes produce a smoke-like vapor, and if they contain nicotine, a strong throat hit as well. This vapor is not smoke; it’s produced by a liquid contained in the flavor cartridge called “e-liquid.” E-liquid is typically comprised of four main ingredients: water, propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG), nicotine and flavoring. Today, let’s delve into the world of VG and PG, two of the most well-known e cig ingredients.

shutterstock_114244654When you vape, the battery heats up a premium liquid contained in the flavor cartridge, producing a dense, smoke-like vapor. E-liquid is also referred to as e-juice, nicotine fluid, juice and smoke juice. V2 Cigs offers a wide variety of flavors to choose from, including non-nicotine versions. To get the best properties of each ingredient, most vapers prefer a mixture of PG and VG in order to enjoy a strong throat hit as well as a significant vapor. Conveniently, most V2 Cigs e-liquids contain both PG and VG!

What is Propylene Glycol?

PG dropletPG is one of the base ingredients that form e-liquid; this is what provides you with that deliciously strong throat hit. PG is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA, and has been used in a variety of household, food, skincare and health products for over 50 years.

PG has little to no taste and therefore won’t affect flavored e-liquid. It’s a relatively thin liquid which can prolong the life of your cartridge. However, it’s best when combined with other ingredients like VG to give a better-rounded vaping experience. In the rare case that someone is allergic to propylene glycol, e-liquids containing VG are the perfect substitute.

What Is Vegetable Glycerin?

shutterstock_58424929VG is another commonly used substance in the e-liquid found in e cigs. VG is a natural ingredient derived from plants and, like PG, is often contained in many household products like lotions, shampoos, toothpastes, pet foods, medications, bakery items and more.

VG boasts a much thicker viscosity than PG. It can have a mildly sweet taste, so it is often blended with PG in e-liquid to accommodate the full flavors of V2 Cigs.

Because of its dense properties, VG is known for the thick vapor it produces; PG is a thinner substance and produces a more smooth kind of vapor. While many electric cigarette fans would prefer to have an e-liquid made exclusively from VG, the fluid is so thick that it can shorten the life span of your cartridge if not diluted with its partner, propylene glycol. That’s why we use both ingredients in our V2 Cigs e-liquids!

How do Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin Compare with Each Other?

pg vs vgBoth PG and VG are used regularly to produce the e-liquid contained in e cigs. These two ingredients are usually combined with various amounts of water and/or nicotine, as well as food grade flavoring to produce the perfect blend of e-liquid. With PG’s smooth throat hit and VG’s thick vapor, the two substances interact with each other to give you exactly what you’re looking for in an electric cigarette.

Hello my name is Tim. I live and own a vape store in Marinette, Wisconsin. I recently had a customer go out of state where he purchased a bottle of your liquid. He let me sample his liquid and it was amazing. The flavor was awesome.

Steer VERY clear of E-Liq.com. I just received a bottle of alleged tobacco flavor e-liquid that looked like urine and smelled like Ben Gay.

Ahhh yes Stan, you try one product and the Sky is falling every body watch out from this company. LOL what a DB.

PG carries the flavor. VG dampens the flavor. So in essence the higher the PG the more flavor the higher the VG the less flavor. Hope this clears this up. Let me know if you have any other questions.

No such ingredient list to be found, only several statements of “View a detailed list of all e-liquid ingredients” and “E-Liquid Ingredients Are Clearly Listed” but never a link, never a list that I can find on the v2.com site, and I have searched the site with google.

Maybe they are “crealy listed” on the bottle, but I would really like to see them before you take my money.
Can anyone provide a direct link to ingredients here, maybe that I and google have not been able to locate? Thanks.

Hello All! V2 e-liquid does NOT contain any of the hazardous flavoring chemicals mentioned in the Harvard study. What the study failed to mention is that combustible tobacco cigarettes contain up to 100x the amount of diacetyl they found in some e-liquids, yet there has never been a single confirmed case of “popcorn lung” resulting from smoking.

A list of our eliquid ingredients is available for download on our User Manuals page. Here is the direct link to those ingredients:

Thank you. Now I can buy with a little more confidence. It would be nice, and likely beneficial to everyone if you would make this info as readily available as your site says it is…. just sayin’ .
    Thanks & Merry Christmas.
