Take Action Now: Potential E Cigarette Ban in Los Angeles

Filed in News & Politics by on January 23, 2014

LA_City_HallIf you’re following the industry, you may have heard chatter about a potential ban on the use of e-cigs in Los Angeles. If you live near L.A., you probably received our recent email outlining the actions you can take, as an e cigarette consumer, to show your local policymakers why such a ban is a terrible idea.

If approved, the ban would forbid people in L.A. from enjoying an e cigarette in any location where traditional cigarettes are prohibited. There is no date set for the L.A. City Council to discuss this ban, but it is still vital that you reach out to your district representative. And if you’re not on the West Coast, but think your city may be next, go ahead and call your local City Council rep and tell them your story…

We are requesting that you take the following steps, as phone calls provide the most impact.

Please call your City Council Representative and:

Tell them you: OPPOSE the proposed ordinance, which would ban e cigarette use wherever smoking is prohibited.

Tell your story: About how switching to an e cigarette has changed your life.

Explain: If electronic cigarettes are subject to the same restrictions as traditional tobacco products, you might as well switch back to traditional tobacco products rather than continue using a smoke-free alternative.

REMEMBER: The most important thing you can do is contact your own city council member.

All L.A. City Council members and their contact details are listed below.
